Comedy Movie Madness -- 64 seeds in a Bracket

Pick Your Final Four Comedy Movies

Check out MSNBC’s “Comedy Movie Madness,” in which they list 64 movies in brackets, just like the NCAA tournament. You can select your winners to come up with your own Final Four and Tournament Champion.

Here’s my final results:

How about you?

The problem, right off the bat, was the matchup of Ferris Bueller v. Raising Arizona in the first round. Both would have made my final four, along with Princess Bride, of course. I went with Raising Arizona in a squeaker over Bueller.

Yes, many of the best movies got eliminated in early rounds.

What were your final four and tournament champ?

Dumb & Dumber, Groundhog's Day, Spinal Tap, and The Holy Grail.

My champ was Dumb & Dumber.

I can't help but think, that there are much funnier movies out there, though. Perhaps that's because I'm not necessarily a fan of the "straight comedy." I like dramatic movies that include some VERY funny moments. Of course, I can't think of a good example right at the moment!

Probably half the movies they have listed I had never heard of, so it was kind of pointless for me on more than a few picks, but I ended up with Ferris Bueller, Animal House, A Christmas Story, and Slapshot as my Final Four; with Animal House edging Slapshot for the Championship.

I agree with byron, which led to my Raising Arizona, Rushmore, Best in Show, Annie Hall. And Arizona beat Best In Show for the championship! I thought Raising Arizona had the easiest time to the finals (after beating Bueller in the first round). Annie Hall had the toughest route facing The Jerk, Strangelove, and Holy Grail. Although the best game of the tourney was the OT battle between Princess Bride and Best in Show.
