I have to say though that I am not a big fan of hard, metallic or rock bands. I am more into acoustic or pop rock but I guess having such other genres will add more flavor to the whole music industry. I personally cannot imagine if all songs were acoustic. By the way, i have seen Neal morse live with Spocks Beard, solo, and with Transatlantic (most recently Whirlwind, with the encores duel with the devil and stranger in your soul) and totally concur about neal, followed closely by steven wilson.jerry laskynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7110103.post-53451788279529192682011-12-16T16:52:08.511-05:002011-12-16T16:52:08.511-05:00For more on Porcupine Tree and theology, check out...For more on Porcupine Tree and theology, check out this post:
What Radiohead and Porcupine Tree can Teach Us About TheologyBob Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10486989092959410055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7110103.post-62823968117660874012011-12-16T16:46:37.353-05:002011-12-16T16:46:37.353-05:00Re: Porcupine Tree's lyrics.
Steven Wilson...Re: Porcupine Tree's lyrics.
Steven Wilson's lyrics are mostly benign. Some of his songs and album concepts are quite profound and I believe (though, of course I don't know) that God is pleased with them. At other times, Wilson uses Christian themes and/or allusions in his songs (i.e., Halo, Lazarus, several songs on Signify) but I think he is not too extremely familiar with authentic Christianity. He is simply tapping into imagery and emotions associated with religion.

So, my verdict is that it is benign, and certainly NOT anti-Christ. What do you think?Bob Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10486989092959410055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7110103.post-44721679087311043012011-12-16T13:24:43.172-05:002011-12-16T13:24:43.172-05:00How do you feel about Porcupine Tree's lyrical...How do you feel about Porcupine Tree's lyrical content? But the music, and the expansive vocabulary it takes to understand the meanings of there songs is second to none. There collection of albums to date is the telling of one story. That is progressive.
